Hosting The Perfect Mother's Day

Anyone who knows me is aware that I love any reason to celebrate! Going all in on a special occasion, whatever it may be, brings me so much joy! With Mother’s Day right around the corner I thought I’d share some simple ideas on how to make this special day spent with family and friends, a memorable one.

Flowers

Flowers are a beautiful way to say ‘I Love You’ or ‘Thank You’ on this celebratory day for Mom. Flowers from a florist always look beautiful, but they can sometimes be a little pricey. The great thing about this time of year is that there is a wide assortment of different colored flowers that are in season and ready to buy at your local farmers market or neighborhood grocery store. Trader Joe’s has an excellent assortment of flowers and potted plants (who doesn’t love a succulent!). This is a great cost saving option for you, and your Mom will be sure to love them just as much!

If you’re hosting brunch at your home for your family or other mom friends, you want to do something that everyone will enjoy but that won’t stress you out. Any sort of breakfast casserole, like a frittata or a breakfast souffle, is a great idea. I highly recommend Joanna Gaines’s cookbook, Magnolia Table. She has a ton of recipes that cater to larger crowds. Her Overnight French Toast recipe is sure to be a crowd pleaser for both adults and kids.

Gifts

Pajamas:

Some Moms are bathrobe people; I happen to be a pajama lady. I’m absolutely obsessed with the satin pajamas from PJ Harlow. These pajamas are incredibly comfortable and they make me feel beautiful while I’m wearing them. I own the Jolie Satin Capri pants and the Daisy Satin Cami with Braided Straps and I couldn’t recommend them more! Another great addition to this gift would be PJ Harlow Satin Pillowcases! Check out the PJ Harlow website and use code LEMTOLACE20 for 20% off your purchase!

For the Mom Who likes To Cook:

If you’re shopping for a Mom who knows her way around the kitchen, look no further than Le Creuset! Le Creuset is a French brand of cast iron cookware that is coveted by chefs everywhere. Their prices are more on the expensive side, but these pans will last for decades if taken care of properly.

Amazon has an array of colors for all of their Le Creuset skillets and pans.

Also, a cute accessory for this skillet is this leather pan handle cover. Cast iron skillets can be used on the stovetop as well as inside the oven. A pan handle cover is helpful in preventing the chef from burning their hand while handling the pan once it has heated up.

On-Trend Mom:

If the Mom you’re shopping for is someone who is interested in the latest thing everyone is talking about, consider purchasing her the Supersonic Dyson Hair Dryer Special Edition Gift Set. This gift edition includes an iron and fuchsia Dyson Supersonic hair dryer and styling set, with a Dyson Detangling comb engineered to glide through wet and dry hair, and a Dyson Paddle brush, designed for soothing hair when blow-drying. This hairdryer is all the rage right now and a popular gift item.

Accessory Loving Mom:

Another “of the moment” item that everyone is talking about is the Mini Shirley Transparent Handbag from Staud. It’s small and compact, has an interesting design and makes for a conversation piece at any luncheon or night out on the town.

Brunch, flowers and gifts are all lovely gestures. However the most important aspect of Mother’s Day is that you let the moms in your life know how much you love and appreciate them. Love doesn’t cost a thing, so be generous with your heart this Mother’s Day!

Smooch!
